Chapter 200.A introduced the branch of the Van Weel family centred in Roosendaal from at least 1637 until the end of the 17th century.
The main thread of the story relates to the ancestors of Hans Peter van Weel, his three children and five grandchildren but it does inevitably stray sideways from time to time.
On 15 January 1693 or 1 February Marinus Cornelisoon van Weel( who we think is age 28), the son of Cornelis Anthonissen van Weel (born 1637) married Margarita Nelst.
At 25 May or 4 July 1702, at Oud en Nieuw Gastel (just north of Roosendaal), Marijnis Cornelissen van Weel of Roosendaal marries again. This time to Catharina Coopmans 'geboren en wonende te Prinsenland' - presumably Prinsenland at nearby Dinteloord rather than in Rotterdam. Dinteloord is just north of Steenbergen, north west of Oud Gastel.
Also in 1702 Adriaan/Adrianus van Weel (two different records) marries Johanna van Roomen at Roosendaal. We have not previously come across Adrian van Weel but the name Adrian appears frequently in earlier Bergen op Zoom van der Weel records. Adrian appears again as a godparent in 1704 and 1713 and in a notarial record of 1712. If we assume a birth date in the period 1670-1680 he could be another son of Cornelis Anthonissen van Weel but he could equally well be a cousin of some description to the families we have already considered.
There are a number of hints in the records that the Van Weel families of Roosendaal are linked to the Van der Weel families of nearby Bergen op Zoom. Wouw is midway between the two.
On 9 December 1703 Marinus Cornelisoon van Weel (then aged around 38) married Cornelia Michielse van der BEECK in Wouw, 4km west of Roosendaal. The record of this marriage also tells us that Marinus Cornelisoon had previously married Catherine Coopman. Which makes it his third marriage. There is a notarial record relating to this marriage at Bergen op Zoom as well as the marriage records from Roosendaal.
It seems highly likely that Cornelia Michielse was the daughter of Michael Beeck and Cornelia van Weel who had married in 1678. The naming convention at this time seems to, quite rigidly, use the father's forename as the child's middle name. Cornelia Michielse is said (in one of the trees?) to have been born on 16 September 1684, in Wouw. If, as suggested in Chapter 200, her mother was the sister of Cornelis Anthonissen van Weel then Cornelia Michielse and Marinus Cornelisoon were first cousins.
There are records in 1704 & 1706(x2) of Marinus as a godparent in baptisms at Wouw.
Marinus and Cornelia had several children, all baptised in Roosendaal. Maria van Weel was baptised in 1704 (witness: Cornelio Anthonisse van Weel - grandfather as godfather?) and Maria Elizabeth in 1705 - which may suggest that Maria (1704) died as an infant. There is a burial in 1704 of a "kind overleden op 19-08-1704, relatie van Marijnis van Weel'. Michael was baptised in 1706, Johannis in 17?? and Cornelis on 12 July 1714. In two 'My Heritage' trees he is identifed as 'Cornelis Marzn' but the baptism record only says Cornelis.
In 1706 Johannes Cornelisse van Weel marries Maria Hubrechtse Stommens. His patronymic ties him neatly to the man baptised in 1680, a son of Cornelis Anthonissen.
Petronilla van Weel dies (or is buried) on 27-02-1706. I am not sure who Petronilla is, whether she was born van Weel or if that is her married name. Is she perhaps the Piternella Aerts mentioned in 1691 when the record of witnesses read 'Elizabeth Matthijssen voor Joanne Willemen van Weel en Piternella Aerts'? Or, from the same baptism, 'Piternella Cornelissen' the wife of Sebastianus Janssen? Or 'Piternella Qu' mentioned in 1689.
In 1706 Christina van Weel is baptised, the child of Martinus J. van Weel and Elisabeth Petrus. More new charecters but the getuigen suggest they are linked into the core family : Anna Maria and Cornelis Anthoni van Weel.
In 1706 Anna Maria van Weel (born 1684?) marries Jan Jacobssen Timmermans. A son Johannes Timmermans is baptised in 1707 and another child in 1709. The getuigen at the baptism of {Johannes?} were "Elisabetha vander Beeck voor Antonio van Weel en Maria vander Beeck". Antonio would seem to be Anna Maria's brother. Elisabeth and Maria van Beeck are presumably daughters of Michael Beeck and Cornelia van Weel - cousins of Anna Maria.
At 17?? Michael Antonius van Weel is baptised. His parents are Marijnus van Weel and Cornelia Michilsen van der Beeck. This is an interesting entry. Michael's second given name is Antonius - this is not a patronymic.
Cornelia Anthonissen van Weel dies or is buried on 16 November 1707. Born 1656, a daughter of Anthonis who married Michael Beeck in 1678.
On 27 December 1707 Petrus van Weel is baptised at Roosendaal. His parents are Adrianus van Weel and Joanna Roomen. The getuigen are "Cornelia Michielsen van der Beer [Beeck ? ] voor Cornelio van Weel en Susanna Oppers". This could support Adrian being a son of Cornelius Anthonissen, but who is Susanna?
Martinus J van Weel and Elizabeth Petrus baptise another child, Antonius van Weel, on Christas day 1708 at Steenbergen. If the J initial is apatronymic name then Martinus might be a son of Jacob Jannssen van Weel.
There is a puzzling marriage record dated 3 February 1709 at Roosendaal. Michiel van Beek marries Cornelia Anthonisse van Weel. Michiel could be a son (born around 1680) of Michiel van Beeck and Cornelia Anthonisse van Weel (deceased). But who is the bride? The only Anthony van Weel we know of was born in 1671. For him to have a daughter ready to marry in 1709 is very tight. The only Cornelia we know of is the daughter of Joannes Willemse van Weel born 1687In 1709 a Cornelio Jorissen Weel was a witness [to something?] Jorissen?
On 6 February 1710 Marinus Cornelissen van Weel and Cornelia van der Beeck baptise another child, Joannes van Weel. Getuigen: Maria Stommens voor zich en Guilielmo de Bruijn.
1713 Marino van Weel is a godparent. Marinus?
in 1714 Marinus Cornelissen van Weel and Cornelia van der Beeck baptise another child, Cornelius van Weel. Getuigen: Elisabetha vander Beeck voor zich en Adriano van Weel
1714 Domino Antonio van weel getuig at Timmerman bap. Domino = a priest? The brother of Anna Maria. There is a burial of Cornelis Anthonissen van Weel in Roosendaal on 6 August 1720. This seems likely to be the man born in 1637. There is certainly evidence that he lived past 1704 as he is named in baptism record(s?) as a witness
(page 33 of record at WBA- .This is an unusual record as it is from the church accounts rather than from a burial register.
Adrian dies 1725
Marinus, the son of Cornelis Anthonissen, died (or was buried?) on May 27 1725, at age 59 in Roosendaal, just five years after his father.
At 1728 Cornelia van der Beeck widow of Marijnis van Weel appoints joint guardians; sr. Johan Timmermans and Johan van Innevelt become joint guardians. A clear illustration of a woman continuing to use her original name.
Cornelia remarries in 1728 to Corstiaen van Ursel
1731 Anna Marie appears in a notarial document as the widow of Timmermans. She dies later that year.
There is a 1738 burial for a Cornelia van Weel in Roosendaal. Who was this? It is sugeested earlier that Cornelia born c.1656, the wife of Michel van Beeck had died in . Is it the Cornelia who married in 1709. It seems unlikely to be the widow of Marinus. Why would the record show her first married anme rather than her second husband's name or her maiden name.
On May 16 1745, at Roosendaal, 'Cornelis van Weel Marijnusse' marries Christina Geradisse CUIJPERS. The name comes not from an original record but from a transcript of an index. It does however fit neatly with his grandmothers maiden name. The WBA index gives the name the other way around: 'Cornelis Marijnusse van Weel'. He is presumably Cornelis, son of Marinus, baptised 1714. There is also a testament by the couple the same or next year. Christina is said (source?) to have been born 1719.
There is another marriage in Roosendaal in the same year of Cornelis van Weel Adriaansse to
Maria van Barel
. The patronymic seems to be appearing after the surname rather than before it. A son of Adrian, born around 1710?'Cornelis van Weel Marijnusse' is buried at Roosendaal on 1 October 1756.
Cornelia ???? is buried at Roosendaal on 23 Nov 1765.
Marinus Cornelis van WEEL (Dr.), 1746 - 1803 Marinus Cornelis van WEEL (Dr.) was born on April 24 1746, in Roosendaal, NB, to Cornelis Marzn van WEEL and Christina Geradisse van WEEL (born CUIJPERS). Cornelis was born on July 12 1714, in Roosendaal, NB. Christina was born on March 8 1719, in Roosendaal, NB. Marinus married Henrica van WEEL (Dr.) (born SCHOENMAKERS) on December 9 1779, at age 33 in Waspik, NB. Henrica was born on October 3 1750, in Waspik, NB. Her occupation was 1 zoon en 1 dochter. They had one daughter: Christina Henrica Gerarda M. van den PANHUYSEN (born van WEEL). His (???) occupation was Geneesheer en Comissaris 1794.Marinus was buried on March 22 1803, at age 56 in Roosendaal -the parish of St Jan de Doper. Ten days before there is another entry mentioning an Adriane van Weel as the wife of Adrianus Franciscus ?neuewen boers? who was buried.
This burial record identifes him as 'Dominus' (an honorific somehwere between Sir/master/mister/doctor) Marinus van Weel, medicin & licentiatus. What the two words are before Dominus I cannot tell.
There are bevolkingsregister entries for Henrica in 1821,22,25 & 26 at Roosendaal each of which in the transcripts refer to "relatie" with Marinus van Weel. However the 1826 register itself is quite specific identifying her as a widow: "weduwe van de heer Marinus van Weel". Her birthplace is identifed as Waspik and her age is 75. Although the transcript in WieWasWie identifies her parents and names her spouse as Marinus Cornelis this information is not extracted from the record itself.
West Brabant archive with Henrica at page 152
Henrica dies 31 August 1826.
Henricus Cornelis Adrianus Van Weel was baptsed on 12 September 1786, the son of Marinus Cornelis van Weel and Henrica Schoenmakers who married dec 9 1779.. His forenames are not patronynmic. He dies on 28 April 1856 at Oosterhout.
sister : Christina Henrica Gerarda Maria van Weel Baptism of child May 4 1784 - Roosendaal, North Brabant, Netherlands
At some point after their marriage, Henricus and Maria move to Oosterhout. He and his family are listed in the Bevolkingsregister there, in house number 653. A full transcript is here.
It gives a lot of detail but is too big an image to display clearly in this page.
Petrus Jacobus Henricus van Weel was born at Oosterhout on 19 September 1824 to Henricus Cornelis Adrianus Van Weel and Maria Cornelia Lightenvelt
On 6 April 1853 "Meester" Petrus Jacobus Henricus van Weel marries Catharina Maria Berman. The marriage deed tells us a great deal. that Petrus was the "Secretaris bij de Administratie der Domein goederen van Zijn Koninklijke Hoogheid Prins Frederick der Nederlanden". Petrus "geboren in Wonende te" Oosterhout is identified as the "Meerderjarige Zon" of Henricus Cornelius Adrianus van Weel, Notaris wonende te Oosterhout and Maria Cornelia Lightenvelt, deceased. He marries Catharina Maria Berman the daughter of Terrian Berman and Johanna Maria Petre, deceased. He is marrying the boss's daughter. Terrian Berman is Administratuer of the Domein goederen of Prins Frederick. Catharina, age 22, was born in Amsterdam but is living in Oosterhout.

Henri PCM had been born on 29 March 1885 in Batavia. In 1892 he is in Delft.
On 17 June 1911, at 's Gravenhage, Georges Jean Marie van Weel, 2e luitenant der Infanterie, age 24 married Johanna Frederika Montauban van Swijndregt. . {WWW}
He was the son of Georges Pierre Marie van Weel, directeur van cultuurondernemingen and Johanna Juliana Cornelia van der Willigen.
Johanna was the daughter of Hubertus Montauban van Swijndregt and Willempje Kruijne
Henri Pierre Catherine Marie van Weel married Marij Antonia Hieronijma de Vries on 8 April 1911. A son, Henri Marie is born on 9 December 1912 but Marij dies on 27 December 1912. HPCM remarries to her sister Nelly Antonia Hieronijma de Vries. He is divorced from Nelly in 193? and marries for a third time in 1936 in London to Richarda Laane. He dies on 2 July 1939 at Breda.
Marij and Nelly de Vries were daughters of
Henri Marie van Weel born 9 December at Ginneken en Bavel (on the outskirts of Breda), the son of Henri Pierre Catherine Marie van Weel & Marij Antonia Hieronijma de Vries.
Henri Marie marries Kunegonda Webbina Heringa in the Hague on 8 November 1937. I have not been able to find any oficial record of this marriage; only a newspaper annoucement:
