The siblings of George Gurnett Wallis

George Gurnett WALLIS was my great-great -great grandfather, the father of Mary Ann Wallis who married John Thomas BRUSH. This section looks at his siblings, the children of James WALLIS and Hester GURNETT.

His brother James Wallis appears in the 1851 census, a gas fitter married to Mary with children Esther, James and William.

Henry and Elizabeth WALLIS have a daughter Hester Gurnett WALLIS on 18 February 1849, registered in the St George Southwark RD. She is baptised on 11 March 1849 at St John the Evangalist Church at Waterloo in Lambeth. Henry is recorded as a brass worker and their address given as Union Street. Hester dies in 1850 and is buried, age 15 months on 13 June in the burial ground of St Martin in the Fields. This is not by the Church in Trafalgar Square but is in Camden, an area now known as St Martins Gardens. Her abode is given as 62 St Martins Lane

A Henry Gurnett WALLIS is born on 23 Feb 1866 and baptised on 18 Mar 1866 at Saint Luke's, Westminster. The father is Henry Gurnett Wallis and the mother 'Margt'. (according to England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. Salt Lake City, Utah: FamilySearch, 2013 - no image). His death aged 1 is registered in the Pancras RD in Q2 1867.
